China To Buy Hotel CANBERRA, Australia (UPI) Chinese embassy officials have almost clinched a $1.5 million deal to buy a large Canberra hotel for use as its embassy. He is survived by his widow Gertrude of the family home, four daughters, Mrs. Grace Early of this city, Mrs. Clara Manuelito of Toadlena, N.M., Mrs. Margaret Beecher of Arizona and Mrs. Tillie Pratcher of Tucson, a sister thirty grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.

in the Chapel in the Garden at the French Mortuary, 1111 Fatal Crash Brings Suit Journal Special LOS LUNAS A fatal traffic accident north of Belen last June 27 has resulted in the filing of a civil suit asking damages in excess of $20,000 in the district court at Los Lunas. Filing the suit was Forrest Arrington for John F. Arrington, deceased, and Jeff Arrington, a minor, vs. Auge Sales and Service of Belen. One of the Arrington boys was fatally injured and the other gravely injured when their motorbike collided with a vehicle operated by Louie Artiaga, said to be an employe of the Auge firm.

Everest Masonic Lodge in New Mexico and was a 33rd degree Mason. He was Educated in Eatonton, and went to college in Atlanta, and Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a pastor in Ravenna and Sandusky, Ohio, Redlands, Billings, and Donora, Farrell, New Castle, Bradford, Scranton and Duquesne, all in Pennsylvania, and St. Joseph, Mo. He was editor for the New Mexico State Courier.

Olive Baptist Church and an honorary member of the F.O.P. He was educated in the Albuquerque Public Schools; was the former chef of the Methodist Sanatorium; opened the Kirtland Officers Club, the St. Joseph Hospital Cafeteria and many other restaurants.

He was the former owner of the Flamingo Club and now operated Chet's Barbeque on South Edith. Memorial services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Palm Chapel of StrongThorne, 1100 Coal SE, with the Rev. W. Costello Trotter, the Rev.

H. Patterson and the Rev. L. L. Bruce officiating.

Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park. SOLANO Juan Ignacio Solano, 85, of 217 Coors SW, passed away Tuesday at a local hospital following an illness. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Josie S. Lucero, Miss Doris D.

Solano and Mrs. Mamie Hale; a brother, Roman Solano, all of Albuquerque; six grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. He was a resident of Albuquerque since 1936 and a member of the Sacred Heart Church. He served as a deputy sheriff for many years in Amarillo, Clayton County, N.M., and Albuquerque. Rosary will be recited Thursday at 7 p.m.

Privacy Suit Being Filed By Sunbather The 1972 winner of the Miss Sunbather New Mexico nude beauty pageant has filed an invasion of privacy suit in District Court alleging that a national magazine printed her nude photograph without her permission. Gail Schleis filed the $240,000 complaint against Rotop, publishers of Rogue Magazine. MISS SCHLEIS who did not state in the complaint that she was connected with the pageant or where the photographs were taken said that fronnude photographs of her had" been published in the May, 1973, issue of Rogue on four different pages.

"No consent, expressed or implied" was given for either the taking or publishing of the photographs, the complaint said. She said -that the photographs and accompanying text had brought her "public scorn, hatred and ridicule" and constituted "libel per se." THE COMPLAINT charged the publication of the photographs was "malicious, wanton and willful." Miss Schleis said that her "right to privacy in personal affairs has been seriously interfered with." She asked $40,000 actual damages and $200,000 punitive damages. Belem Couple Is Currently Most Prolific LONDON (AP) "I don't know why people make such a fuss," said Raimundo Carnauba when interviewed on the birth of his 38th child. "They have given us a lot of work and worry but they are worth it," added Mrs. Carnauba, 54.

Carnauba, 58, and his wife Josinar live in Belem, Brazil. They were spotlighted in the new Guinness Book of Records published Wednesday as the current most prolific parents in the world. For the record, Mrs. Carnauba was married at 15 and so far has had 14 sons and 24 daughters. With its customary air of never being surprised, the book notes that a Russian peasant woman who had 69 children in the 19th century still holds the record in the This 20th edition of children category.

Heating Fuel Need Expected to Clumb WASHINGTON (AP)The demand for heating fuel in the United States this winter will increase by 1.1 per cent over last year if weather conditions follow the recent trend, the Commerce Dept. says.

Dr. J. Murray Mitchell Jr. of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, a division of the Commerce said United States winters have been colder over the past 15 years. "Whether or not this is a persistent long-term trend cannot yet be established with Mitchell said.

He said the major exception to the trend toward colder winters was last year when the winter was warmer than normal. GREEN Eula Mae Green, 69, a resident of Albuquerque for 22 years, passed away Tuesday afternoon in a local hospital. She is survived by her husband, George D. Green, of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Edward Porth of Flagstaff, two sisters, Mrs.

Ora Klentos and Mrs. Marjorie Cline, both of Tulsa, a brother, Mr. J. H. Blalock, Albuquerque, and two grandchildren.

Mrs. Green was 2 member of the St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church, and the family prefers in lieu of flowers that contributions be made to the St. Mark's on the Mesa Memorial Fund. Cremation will take place.

Memorial services will be held today at 11 a.m. in the St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church, 430 Dartmouth NE, with the Rev. Charles E. Fish officiating.

The French Mortuary, 1111 University NE, in charge of arrangements. ROMERO Mrs. Juanita S. Romero, 57, resident of this city passed away Wednesday morning at a local hospital following an illness. She resided at 503 Gene NW, and is survived by her husband Adriano a sister, Mrs.

James Turrietta, a brother, Ephrain Silva of Los Angeles, and several nephews and nieces. She was a member of the Catholic Church, the Altar Rosary Society, and member of the Peoples Eucharistic League. The rosary will be recited today and Friday at 7 p.m. at the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel, 1000 Coors SW. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. David Park and Mrs. N. A. Martinez, both of three sons, Alfredo Sanchez Albuquerque; Alberto F.

Thomson, 58, a resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday at a local hospital following an illness. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Thomson; three sons, Michael and Robert Thomson, both of Albuquerque, and Mark Nasal of Kansas City, two daughters, Ann Thomson of Albuquerque and Barbara Dersham of Kansas City, and his mother, Anna Thomson of Pasadena, Calif. He was a member of the Lutheran Church and the Ivanhoe Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and the Arat Shrine, all of Kansas City, Mo. He was engaged in mining operations in New Mexico since 1955 and he was the nephew of the late Stella Dysart. He was director of the Southwest Bureau of Investigations in Albuquerque and was a member of the World Assn.

of Detectives and the American Assn. of Criminologists. He received his BA and MA degrees from the University of Missouri. He served as a lieutenant in the Navy during World War II. Arrangements will be announced by Strong- Thorne Mortuary.

Daniel Rice, who served as pastor of St. Charles Catholic Church from 1952 until 1964 when he retired, died Wednesday in Elsham, England. A native of Scotland, Father Rice was 62.

He had been in ill health for a long time. Word of Father Rice's death was received in Albuquerque by his niece, Mrs. Margaret "Bonny" Reilly. A papal Knight of the Holy Sepulcher, Father Rice came to Albuquerque in 1950 and taught at the University of Albuquerque. In 1951 he was assigned to Sacred Heart Parish here.

During World War II, he served as a chaplain in the British Army. After he came to this country, he became an American citizen.
